I serve on the Graduate and Professional Student Senate (GPSS) as the representative for the Mathematics Department. In addition to just being a senator, I also am on the Executive Committee as Treasurer. This means I chair the finance committee, approve yearly budgets, and handle acquisition requests. However, it also means I am not a voting member of the senate. If you would like to talk about anything graduate student related, or raise any concerns you might have, please feel free to e-mail me or stop by my office.

My position as GPSS senator is also that of an ad-hoc member of MathGSO, the Mathematics Graduate Student Organization. Our aim is to benefit the experience of the graduate students in the department. We do things like hold socials, facilitate the peer mentor program, run Co-Edge (a program aimed at incoming graduate students), host the weekly department tea, and much more.

In spring of 2023, I created and coordinated the MathGSO Graduate Student Symposium, the first symposium that focuses solely on graduate students from our department and their research. This year I will no longer be a part of the official planning committee, but I am staying on in an advisory role as a consultant.

In December of 2022, the Graduate Student Seminar was born through the combined efforts of myself, Enrique Gomez-Leos, and Mitchell Ashburn. The idea of our seminar sprouted from another seminar in our department, called the Junior Analysis Seminar. The purpose of this seminar is to give a platform for graduate students in the Mathematics Department to give expository or research talks to an audience comprised solely of peers (other students). In addition to being a great place to practice giving math talks, the seminar encourages collaboration and fosters enthusiasm amongst fellow students of math.
